The destructive mechanical trials laboratory is equipped with:
• 100 tone press (to determine the flow limit, the fracture extension and breaking resistance. To determine the bending resistance)
• Charpy pendulum (the bending trials by shock of the materials are carried out in order to determine the material’s toughness. After the fracture of the material, it is determined the specific transversal contraction (which reflects the material’s plasticity) and fracture nature (that can be ductile or fragile). The trial consists in breaking a prismatic test tube, provided with a “V” or “U” middle notch, by hitting it with a hammer (Charpy hammer) to the opposite side of the notch).
• Vickers Durometer
• Brinell Durometer
• Machinery necessary for the mechanical processing of the test tubes
